A Note from Pax Founders

Hello world,

If you're reading this, you're ready for a revolution in the world of duty drawbacks.

Today, we are making our duty drawback calculator for J2 Provision (Unused Substitution) available for free, and this is just the beginning. We hope this demo gives you the feel of a friendly user interface that is inherent in all of our products, plus, the power of advanced algorithms that powers the calculation.

The workflow in this demo is simple: You upload data, and we show the claim amount along with import-to-export matches. Please note that in this free demo, you need to upload your import and export data in our standard format. However, in our paid version, you'll never need to do this manually. Data processing will be assisted by AI, which extracts information from numerous sources such as ACE systems, ERPs, CSVs, and PDFs, and feeds them into our calculators automatically. We believe that submitting claims should be just a few clicks away, not a months-long process.

Ready to revolutionize your duty drawback process? Try our free J2 calculator today and experience the power of Pax AI:

Checklist:

  1. Ensure that the column names in the import and export data you upload match our templates (the order of columns does not matter).
  2. Verify that there are no invalid fields such as negative values in columns such as qty, line_value, total_mpf, line_hmf, line_duty, and value_per_unit.
  3. Confirm that the Unit of Measure (UOM) for exports is the same as the UOM for imports with the same HTS code.
  4. The "Id" column in the export template is a unique identifier for your export entries. If you don't have such information handy, create something random like 1, 2, …, N (if you have N rows).
  5. Ensure that you do not include exports to destination countries that are not eligible for J2, such as USMCA (US, Canada, Mexico) and Chile.
  6. The part number column can be left blank, but entering it enables a pie chart showing the drawback breakdown by part number.
  7. In this demo, we limit the import and export to 1000 enties each.

Step 3: Upload import and export data - drag/add your files to the upload area, press next step after you finished the upload

  1. match_report: Optimal import-export matches for maximum drawback. (import_id = entry_number + entry_line_number)
  2. import_residual: Remaining unused import entries with remaining quantity.
  3. export_residual: Remaining unused exports with remaining quantity.
